The /etc/init.d/network script is one of those. The line
# probe: true
tells Linuxconf there that we are allowed to run the network script with the option probe to learn about its state. Unfortunately, this option is not implemented anymore in the script, so Linuxconf produces an error every time it probes the network script.
The simple solution is to edit the /etc/init.d/script and remove the above line (# probe: true).
Now, if you update the network configuration and you want to enable the change you will have to either reboot or perform the following command.
