Is there a way to access Linuxconf`s HTML mode through a secure protocol

There is no encryption in Linuxconf because of the US crypto export law. This may be solved one day. In the mean time, there is a way to use a normal apache-ssl to proxy (and secure) Linuxconf HTML access.

Check out the following page for details: http://www.terminator.net for details.

Once you are using that, Linuxconf can't tell the source of the requests. All requests seems to be from 127.0.0.1, so do not forget to enable this in the linuxconf network access dialog.

Here is a sample httpd configuration to achieve secure access to linuxconf.

	ServerAdmin you@your_domain.com
	DocumentRoot /some_directory
	ServerName www.somename.com

	ProxyPass / http://localhost:98/
	ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:98/

	SSLEngine on
	SSLCertificateFile /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.crt/server.crt
	SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.key/server.key
